7 Must Watch TV Shows This Easter

What better way to relax than by enjoying some top quality TV show as the Easter holidays roll in. You’re kicking back, loving the well earned time off and just waiting for a certain Bunny to drop off its Easter Eggs to munch on!

So, if you are on the hunt for some new shows, we’ve got you covered with seven that you have to try out this Easter. There’s nothing wrong with a good quality binge if you’re on holidays, right?

1. Derry Girls

Let’s start off with a classic that has been well talked about since it’s launch in January. Derry Girls is a sitcom, predominately with an Irish cast which is set in Derry in the 1990’s. Perfect for those looking to laugh at some well produced local humour.

This show will have you glued to the TV so don’t hesitate to give it a go. If you enjoy Irish movies such as The Young Offenders or  Sing Street you won’t want to miss this show.

2. Collateral

If you enjoy a good mystery that is full of conspiracies, then this show might just be the one for you. A new addition to Netflix that investigates the death of a pizza delivery man in London over the course of four days.

When the detective on the case hears about this, she is keen on discovering a darker truth. Actress Carey Mulligan stars as Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie and puts in a very strong performance. Perfect if you’re looking to spend the night in with the other half and blitz the last of the chocolate.

3. Alexa & Katie

This is a heart-warming adventure about two girls who are entering high school and trying to stay positive despite one girl being diagnosed with cancer. Starring Paris Berelc as Alex and Isabel May as Katie, this is a good fit for teens who enjoy some comedy and experiencing the highs and lows of starting High school.

Their friendship will make you laugh and cry as you go through their day to day lives. The first season has 13 episodes so more than enough to get you through a bank holiday binge!

4. Grimm

If you are into the supernatural, mystery and some light comedy this might be the show you need to indulge in. Not a new show but a new addition to Netflix. Check out the preview of Grimm’s sixth and final season below to get a taste of what to expect

The series follows detective Nick Burkhardt who finds out he is descended from a long line of warriors called Grimms. With this new knowledge, Nick defends his city against magical creatures alongside his friends. Some famous movie names in the show include Silas Weir Mitchell from The Whole Ten Yards and Rat Race as well as Bree Turner who starred in The Ugly Truth and Just My Luck.

5. Requiem

This is definitely one our top picks out of the list. Fancy being frightened to leave your bed at night? If so, you have found the right place. Following a famous cellist Mathilda Grey as she embarks on an adventure to discover the truth surrounding her mother’s suicide.

There is a mystery that attaches her mother to the unsolved case of a missing child in Wales but will this reveal even darker secrets. Get under the covers and turn off the lights before you flick this one on, it’s bound to give you a fright.

6. Ireland’s Got Talent

Everybody loves a bit of reality TV show from time to time. Ireland’s got talent is the new version of the international Got Talent series. The winner of the show get a massive cash prize and a pretty sweet opportunity to advance their careers with a prime time Christmas television special.

Hosted by Lucy Kennedy, it promises to have you laughing along with the hilarious judges Louis Walsh, Michelle Visage, Jason Byrne and Denise Van Outen. So, have a watch this Easter and see who truly has got the talent if you missed out on it before.

7. Lost In Space

Lost In Space is coming to Netflix in April, son one to keep in the back pocket when you have gotten through our other suggestions. If you’re a fan of science fiction and aliens, you might be a big fan of this too. The Robinson family are on a mission to establish a colony in space but their ship is unexpectedly pulled off course, causing them to crash land on a planet.

Soon they discover extra-terrestrial life but is it as safe as it looks to be? Promising to have you on the edge of your seat, this show has many twists and turns, so tune in this April to discover what happens.

There you have it, you no longer have to sit around and endlessly explore reviews and tomato meters! From intense horrors to cool fantasy and back to classic comedies, we have an option for everyone.
