Crucial Things To Remember When Travelling

crucial-things-to-remember-when-travellingThere are a lot of things to remember before you go off on any adventure, your passport being the first on the list because we all know someone who’d forget it. Here we have a short list of the essentials to prep and plan your next trip.

Travel Insurance

If you’re a bit accident prone or have a bit of bad luck with life in general, then travel insurance is what you should be looking at probably before even booking the flights. It would be just your luck that you would have your suitcase sent to a completely different country and will need cover for a temporary wardrobe.

The Language

Always know the language of the country or know someone who does, it might seem like an obvious requirement but some people will still overlook something like this and run themselves into difficult situations due to their inability to see past a strong dose of wanderlust.

Cash

Some people, myself included, go through their everyday life without cash because I’d simply only spend it if I had it. The inconvenience of using the card for small things turns me off buying needless food etc. But if you are going on holidays, always have cash with you. Pickpockets target densely populated tourist areas and also around anywhere with a busy nightlife so you could end up losing a wallet. Always have a supply of cash as back-up for a mishap.

Planning

Don’t go anywhere and wing it thinking that different opportunities will fall in to your lap. It doesn’t always happen that easy, so know your surroundings. Obviously, you have a reason for booking a certain destination but don’t expect a visit to the Collosseum or a scuba diving session to take up your whole holiday. You don’t want to be left sitting around for a few days with nothing to do but take in sun. And last but not least, ALWAYS make sure that you ring home to check in with the mammy.
