Five Thriller Movies To Watch

We’ve all got those movies that we absolutely love and force every person we know to love them too. We’ve also all got those movies that you think you’re the only person on the planet who hasn’t seen it (mine’s The Lion King). Here are five thriller movies that everybody needs to have watched.

Shutter Island (2010)

In my opinion, this is the daddy of them all. No movie has caught me by surprise at the death more than Shutter Island. The dream team of Scorsese and Di Caprio give this movie absolutely everything. A US Marshal travels to an isolated island asylum to assist in a missing person’s search because a patient has gone off on her own around the island. It gets deeper and darker as the movie goes on.

The Departed (2006)

A mole in the local PD trying to find out who is the undercover agent in the local Irish gang while the undercover agent works to identify the mole. The star studded cast live up to their names with an absolute classic.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Without a doubt, the greatest performance ever given as a movie villain, Heath Ledger’s Joker. With Christopher Nolan, they recreated the character in their own way and just nailed it. From the crazy laugh to the little nuggets of manic wisdom that he would leave in his dialogue, this movie and Ledger’s performance in particular has everything.

The Prestige (2006)

Two magicians going head to head to be the best in the world. They will try anything to get the better of their rival and it makes great viewing. Another one of Nolan’s masterpieces. Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Hugh Jackman are just part of an excellent cast.

Collateral (2004)

Cab Driver Jamie Foxx innocently picks up a fare which turns his whole night upside down. Contract Killer Tom Cruise takes him hostage for the night to ensure that he has a personal chauffeur for his rounds that particular night. It’s obviously not your usual night at work for Foxx.
