The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown is the ideal hotel destination for guests wishing to indulge in anything from a shopping spree to a romantic getaway. This four star hotel effortlessly caters for either business or pleasure with rooms starting from around €113 for two people per night. Our stay in the Crowne Plaza was to catch an early fight the following morning. In addition to this, we wanted to avoid the traffic in the city but also desired to do some shopping on the day of arrival. Staying here fulfilled all three criteria.

The Hotel

The hotel itself is quite visually pleasing and is teamed with friendly, helpful staff. The hotel includes unique, unexpected touches such as a beautiful bird cage at reception. The sound of soft chirping really creates a relaxed ambiance within the hotel upon arrival. The décor is quite modern with plush furniture and the jewel tone colour scheme really adds an elegant feel.

The Room

The room and ensuite were very spacious and clean. We booked into a twin room which was well furnished. In keeping with the rest of the hotel, the décor was tasteful and modern. The bed was very comfortable and there was little street noise (as the room was not facing the motorway) making it very easy to relax and sleep. Complimentary bottles of water, branded toiletries and lavender pillow spray were provided which was not only thoughtful but made the stay even more luxurious. You get a sense of being well catered for whilst staying here.

Location

It is located near the M50, not only making it easy to get to the hotel and but it is also only 15 minutes to Dublin airport by car, depending on traffic. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Blanchardstown shopping centre and retail park. This includes over 150 stores, 25 restaurants and the Odeon cinema making it ideal for those seeking a shopping spree destination. Dublin city centre is approximately a 25 minute drive from the hotel for the shopper who has energy remaining.

Food

There is both a bar and fine dining restaurant in the hotel. We ate in at the bar and there was a large selection of well-priced lunch and dinner options on the menu. The staff will cater to any dietary requirements as necessary. Despite being very busy as the time, the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was lively. The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and well presented. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge spread including everything from a traditional fry to American style pancakes. There were several types of cereal, bread, yogurt, fruit and beverages available. There is really something for everyone here.

Facilities

There are numerous facilities within the hotel including a well-equipped gym, sauna and conference rooms. Something to keep in mind is that there is no pool within the hotel. Free WiFi is available and underground parking is plentiful. Room and laundry service can also be provided if requested at an additional fee. Overall, we’d highly recommend this hotel as we enjoyed a very pleasant stay thanks to the helpful staff, the location and the layout of the hotel itself.
