Then the FAI CP team took home a bronze for their 3rd place win at the 2018 IFCPF European Championships in Holland. Well, this hasn’t exactly gone to plan, has it? Back in November, when Ireland were beating everything the southern hemisphere was throwing at them, it all looked rosy for Joe Schmidt’s charges. Memories of beating all that the southern hemisphere had to offer in 2016 will mean that we Irish fans go into this Six Nations tournament with high expectations. Over the top of my pint cup, I watched in amusement as Ireland trounced Australia in the first half of their meeting last November in the Aviva.
