5 Interesting Bets for Ireland’s Final World Cup Qualifiers

By Dean Fitzgerald September 26, 2017 (No)
It’s all come down to this. Massive performances, huge let downs, deeply annoying bad luck, all will be forgiven if Ireland were to overcome the odds and beat both Moldova and Wales to book a spot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The likelihood isn’t exactly optimistic. Yet we wait with bated breath for the Boys in Green to give what they have left for the jersey and make us proud to be Irish football fans once again. Knowing the odds are stacked against the Irish makes it even more poetic, that we should give advice on a few bets come the last round of qualifying games. For sports […]

10 Reasons Why Irish Football Fans are Still the Best in the World

By Dean Fitzgerald September 1, 2017 (No)
Irish fans of all sports are very highly regarded on the world stage. We’re seen as the life of the party at a Conor McGregor fight, the loudest singing crowd in any given stadium, and everyone wants to be seen with the Irish fans for one reason or another. From Chile to Japan, Irish sports fans are extremely popular (except maybe in North Korea, but that’s hardly our fault now!). At any given time, Irish football fans are known for boisterous, good-natured support of their country. With crucial upcoming World Cup qualifier games against Georgia and Serbia on the Road to Russia 2018, we’ve come up with 10 reasons why […]

The Road To Russia 2018: Who Are Ireland’s Star Performers?

By Evan Coughlan August 29, 2017 (No)
The Republic of Ireland team have passed the halfway point in their World Cup qualifying campaign and as things currently stand in Group D, Martin and Roy’s Boys are level on points with Serbia at the top, and are only two goals behind them on goal difference. Ireland have a four point cushion over Wales and Austria who lie in third and fourth respectively and maybe, just maybe we, as a nation, can start getting excited about a trip to Moscow next summer. However, before we start loading up the van with Joxer and the lads, there are still four games left to play, two at home and two away. […]

Ireland vs Wales World Cup Qualifiers 2018 Preview

By Ryan Corry March 23, 2017 (No)
As it stands, Ireland are in a very healthy position in Group D, sitting top of the table, unbeaten in four games including a tough trip to Serbia. However, the worst is still yet to come, with Wales in the Aviva Stadium our next port of call on Friday, while being in the middle of the worst injury crisis we’ve seen in years. At this stage, the mind games between the two sides have been strictly corporate with the FAI offering an ‘insulting’ amount of tickets to Welsh supporters, who expected 10% of the allocation but were in fact offered a mere 6%. This might be a masterstroke and give the makeshift […]

World Cup Qualifier – The Irish Team Kick Off

By theSharpeUser July 10, 2016 (No)
It seems like we are always willing to accept a day out. ‘Ah sure, we gave it a lash’ is an all too common attitude in Irish sport. The Euro 2016 journey wasn’t a bad one but it wasn’t a great one. So we beat the Italians on an amazing night to qualify for the last 16 but then got beaten by a superior French team. A French team that could have been avoided had we merely beaten the Swedes in the first game when we were the dominant force. Oh well, we’ll move on and next is the World Cup in 2018. Ireland line out against Serbia away from […]
