Over the past couple of years, the January transfer window has lost some of its charm. Even Sky Sports don’t really seem to care that much about it until Deadline Day itself. Transfer windows really can make or break a manager’s reputation. Back in November, the footballing world marvelled at Jurgen Klopp’s achievement. Liverpool made a profit from last summer’s transfer window, yet there they sat, one point off the top as genuine title contenders. Flash forward to the end of January, and things are very different. The January transfer window can be a strange one. It’s often said that it’s near impossible to sign real quality during this window, but this isn’t always the case.
