By Zuzanna Piasek June 28, 2019 (No)
Books have gained some competition in recent years with the technological world advancing so much. However, books can be the perfect way to get lost in a world, learn life lessons or educate yourself on a problem. Books can even teach you more than then the internet might at times which is why they are so important.  We’ve all heard of famous writers like T.S Eliot or Shakespeare but don’t worry I’m not just going to lay down the classics. I will include a wide range of books from all corners of the world. Also, it is important to note that there are millions of books out there that are […]

What’s Your Pleasure? Galway Opens Pioneering Record, Coffee & Club Spot

By theSharpeUser June 24, 2019 (No)
A change of pace and style on Abbeygate Street in Galway city with the opening of Pleasure. It’s a time of change, for clubs, for retail and the vinyl industry — as competition with cafes, pubs, online and festivals is tougher than it ever has been. There is now a need for a new kind of space… like Pleasure. After a decade making clubs and nightlife spaces in Galway, and seeing the ways in which people experience music and club culture change, John Gillen wanted to do something to make sense of the old and the new. The installation type space — based off mobile soundsystems and incorporating elements of […]

Clayton Hotel Charlemont Review

By theSharpeUser May 17, 2019 (No)
Rating We were lucky enough to enjoy a stay in one of Dublin’s newest hotels recently and we have to say it was a pretty cool experience. We stayed in the Clayton Charlemont hotel on a Thursday night and checked out on a Friday and it was a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is part of the Clayton Group of Hotels and the newest in their list of locations in Ireland and it shows. It’s really modern and trendy and is a great location for shopping, partying or even business. It’s close to Luas lines and about a 6-minute walk to Stephens Green/Grafton St while also being no distance from […]

James OR Interview: An Attempt At Momentum

By Kaleigh Ahern May 9, 2019 (No)
A short conversation with James OR feels like packing myriad life lessons in a bottomless bag – you apply its contents to your own life, and the bag is refilled on the next coffee date. In other words – the 29-year-old Cork man is pure sound, like. “I’m not a believer of natural talent. I’m a big advocate of grit and hard work.” James is a homegrown artist who fills his days gathering some momentum, or at least trying to. From humble beginnings – and humble he is – this man’s music has taken him a far stretch from blasting out Nirvana covers with his wannabee rock star pals in […]

Ah, music festivals; the favourite pastime of many individuals during the Summer. In today’s article, I’ll be listing a few of the musical festivals that will be happening in Ireland this year and who knows, you may find yourself at one. Electric Picnic I had to start off with this one, it’s probably one of the most popular festivals and the tickets sell out super quick. Acts for this year include The 1975, Hozier, Florence and the Machine and many more. Electric Picnic has been staged since 2004 at Stradbally Hall in Stradbally in County Laois. It has been voted Best Big Festival at each of the last four Irish […]

Kennedy’s Of Clontarf Review

By Tahlia Peppard March 7, 2019 (No)
Kennedy’s is a lovely little quaint café, come deli on the corner of Vernon Avenue in Clontarf. It overlooks the bay and on a sunny day, nothing can beat a nice, cold ice-cream from Kennedy’s. But that’s not the only thing they offer, they have a wide selection of dishes for your enjoyment and guess what, all at an affordable price. Continue reading our review for Kennedy’s Clontarf to see what you’ll be ordering on your next visit. Food/Dishes Kennedy’s dishes are full of home-made goodness.
