Following on from our part 1 piece on Wellbeing Events in 2019, we at The Sharpe have decided to give you an early insight into some of the events coming up later in the summer and thereafter (which might be worthwhile looking into now as some events can be pricey!).
We all need to take time out from the stresses of life and to put social media and digital devices on pause for a while. Your mind will thank you for it in the long run and one of the select events that we have handpicked could be the perfect gift for you or someone else down the line. Yoga, retreats, art therapy, you name it we have it in the following top wellbeing event picks for 2019.
It’s easy to invest too much time in the online world until it starts to negatively affect our mental health. Ecowellness Consulting Ltd. is a company based in Dublin whose aim is to help people establish a balanced lifestyle by conducting short courses and training programs that teach positivity through nature. In June they will be hosting a 2-day training session which will involve designing, implementing and evaluating nature-based interventions to promote positive mental health as they claim that studies show that the ‘therapeutic use of nature’ can be beneficial to mental health.
Some of the events lined up for the day include Ecotherapy, Expressive Arts in Nature, Forest Therapy and Forest Bathing with other various indoor and outdoor activities and discussions to be conducted in small and large groups. The trainers involved are qualified professionals and they are Shirley Gleeson (BSocSc, MSW, MA in Health Promotion) and Donal O’ Keeffe (BA, MSc Applied Psychology, PhD candidate). What you will learn from the training can be used for yourself or to help others. See the link here for further details: https://bit.ly/2Vc9SYP

Whilst meditation, yoga and deep contemplative exercises can benefit adults in providing an effective de-stress method, for children these options might not be accessible. There are adults and children alike however who benefit from expressing themselves and tackling their anxieties through art and using their creative abilities. ChildVision is an organisation that caters for blind children and their families in Ireland alongside organising mental wellbeing events for the public.
In September, they will be promoting this method by providing a 2-hour workshop aimed at professionals and the parents of young children which will demonstrate the benefits of art therapy and how these tools can be passed on to others and particularly children. Art therapy is described as a form of psychotherapy that uses a mixture of talking and art in a non-judgemental environment as a medium to access feelings, experiences and personal challenges. While the title of this workshop may sound daunting, the method is very straight forward. Quantum healing (also called cellular healing) operates on the concept of letting go of stress and negative emotions because where thought goes energy flows. The aim of this 2-day workshop is for participants to gain increased self-control over their thought process and emotions by connecting with positive energy sources and embracing all that is natural and spiritual. Some interesting aspects that the workshop will cover includes an introduction to quantum theory, heart fields, positive protection and more.
The participants that will benefit most from this are those who are open-minded to the concept of spiritual healing and who wish to explore different avenues of restorative techniques. Jana Kollar will be organising this workshop and she is certified in multiple areas which include Psychotherapy, Counselling, Naturopathy, Quantum Physics, etcetera. For details on what this workshop entails, visit the following link: https://bit.ly/2OILPy9
When: Sat, 15 Jun 2019, 10:00 – Sun, 16 Jun 2019, 17:30

We have a great selection of events overall that cater to those who either want to participate in wellbeing events for educational purposes or simply to get a well-earned break.
