Kennedy’s Of Clontarf Review
March 7, 2019 (No Comments) by Tahlia Peppard

Kennedy’s is a lovely little quaint café, come deli on the corner of Vernon Avenue in Clontarf.

It overlooks the bay and on a sunny day, nothing can beat a nice, cold ice-cream from Kennedy’s. But that’s not the only thing they offer, they have a wide selection of dishes for your enjoyment and guess what, all at an affordable price.

Food/Dishes

Kennedy’s dishes are full of home-made goodness. Their menu is a mix of healthy options, but of course has a selection of delicious treats. They do a lovely breakfast, which is usually what I go for.

I have tried and tested the Sugar Free Luxury Fruit & Nut Muesli, with Probiotic Natural Yoghurt. You can’t really go wrong here, but you can go so right! This filled me up straight away and gave me energy for the rest of the day. The ingredients were so fresh and crunchy, and it helped knowing this was a healthy option for me to start the day.

I have also tried the poached eggs, with toast and of course bacon. What can I say, this was cooked to perfection. The eggs were the right consistency and when I cut into the yolk, it poured over my toast. The bacon was crunchy, but not to the point of being over-cooked.

I would also highly recommend their pancakes. They have selection of different options, but of course I decided to go with Nutella. Their pancakes were light, but filling enough, that combined with the Nutella made for heaven! We didn’t get a proper snap as they were gobbled up very quickly but here is an example of what to expect if you get some pancake here.

Service

Immediately upon walking into Kennedy’s, you are greeted with smiles and happy faces. The employees greet you straight away and seat you just as fast. All the servers were friendly and happy to take your order. They offer great service as they are there to take your order as soon as you’re ready.

They accommodate you depending on what you order, so if you have a young one, who may want pancakes with Nutella and a selection of fruit, the servers are happy to help! All the servers are ready to help and make you feel welcome which is not the norm level of service in other places we’ve all been to.

Décor

Kennedys in Clontarf

The Décor is really cute and simple. Kennedy’s actually has an upstairs, so the tables are spaced out nicely, you don’t feel like you’re on top of other customers. They have lovely art on the wall that’s available to buy and lovely wooden tables and chairs. The café has an almost old-time feel about it as it has red and white stripes outside, but inside is modern, open and spacious. The ambience is very calming and relaxing. You could easily sit there the whole day and people-watch and look out at the sea.

Pricing

As I have mentioned, the café is very reasonably prices considering the food is absolutely delicious. Almost everything on their breakfast menu is under 10Euro – I mean, where could you go wrong?  They are extremely affordable for such a lovely café and if you’re trying to save those bucks, definitely take a trip to Kennedy’s. They also do catering, so if you love their food as much as me, consider using them for any events you have coming up.

So if you are looking for somewhere to have a great breakfast, tasty lunch or a fancy coffee up near Clontarf then this is the place to try! Enjoy
